About FBSI

The Foundation for Brain Science and Immunology

The Foundation for Brain Science and Immunology (FBSI) advances the understanding and treatment of neurocognitive and neuropsychiatric disorders, with a specific emphasis on how the immune response to infections and environmental factors impact the brain. By exploring the intersection of multiple interrelated disciplines, we aim to uncover novel pathways for intervention, fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Our Vision

Research and Interdisciplinary collaboration will transform the world’s understanding and treatment of psychiatric symptoms caused by infection and immune-mediated neuroinflammation. We focus on translating scientific discoveries into practical interventions and treatments that improve patient outcomes across all demographics and support clinicians in delivering evidence-based care.

Our Collaborative Network of Partner Organizations

FBSI partners with organizations committed to improving outcomes for individuals affected by neuroinflammatory and neuropsychiatric conditions. We develop evidence-based diagnostic and treatment guidelines, drive educational outreach, and accelerate research initiatives that have the potential to change lives on a global scale.

Our Partner PANDAS Physicians Network

As a cornerstone of our collaborative network, the PANDAS Physicians Network establishes the industry-standard PPN Guidelines for Diagnostics and Therapeutics, promotes ongoing education within the medical community, and sponsors research aimed at developing diagnostic tests, treatment protocols, and ultimately a cure for children with PANS and PANDAS within this generation.

Research Initiatives

FBSI supports cutting-edge research exploring the role of immune activation in neuroinflammation and its impact on cognition and behavior. Our grants, clinical studies, and collaborative projects focus on understanding how infections, environmental triggers, and immune dysregulation affect the brain — unlocking novel intervention strategies that can transform patient outcomes.
