Research Initiatives

The Foundation for Brain Science and Immunology (FBSI) supports research initiatives aimed at advancing the understanding and treatment of neuroinflammatory disorders, their underlying mechanisms, and the connections between immune system activation, infections, and the onset of psychiatric symptoms.

We support interdisciplinary research aimed at improving diagnostics, treatment strategies, and long-term outcomes for individuals affected by these conditions. Our goal is to foster innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based solutions. Research initiatives focus on exploring how immune responses to infections and environmental factors impact brain health

Our Goals

  • Investigate the intersection of immunology, neurology, and psychiatry to uncover novel pathways for intervention in neuroinflammatory disorders.
  • Identify how immune system activation, particularly in response to infections, contributes to neuroinflammation and its role in brain dysfunction.
  • Promote interdisciplinary research and collaboration among immunologists, neurologists, psychiatrists, other healthcare professionals, and institutions to advance patient care and treatment strategies.
  • Foster innovations in diagnostic and therapeutic tools that target immune-related mechanisms in neuroinflammation.
  • Improve understanding of environmental and infectious triggers that exacerbate or contribute to neuropsychiatric conditions.

Grants Available

We offer grant opportunities to support research exploring how infections and the immune system influence brain function and contribute to neuropsychiatric symptoms. These grants are designed to generate new insights, advance clinical trials, and promote interdisciplinary collaboration. We encourage researchers and institutions to apply for funding to investigate the complex interactions between infections, immune activation, and brain health.

Funded Research Projects

Our organization has provided funding for a variety of groundbreaking research projects in the field of neuroinflammatory disorders. These projects focus on improving our understanding of how immune activation and infections impact the brain, with an emphasis on developing new treatment options.

Funding Partners –
Advancing the Science

Research at the intersection of immunology, infections, and brain-behavior interactions has long been underfunded and underexplored. The Foundation for Brain Science and Immunology (FBSI) is seeking partners and philanthropic support to advance understanding of how immune responses can trigger neuroinflammation and contribute to the onset of psychiatric symptoms.

This is a unique opportunity to foster collaboration among physicians, psychiatrists, medical professionals, and mental health specialists, strengthening care coordination and ultimately improving patient outcomes worldwide.

We welcome conversations with individuals, foundations, and institutions interested in advancing this research. Contact us at info@brainimmunology.org to explore funding opportunities and collaborative partnerships.
