The Foundation for Brain Science and Immunology, through its division PANDAS Physicians Network (PPN), is pleased to announce a $25,000 grant awarded to Stanford Immune Behavioral Health in memory of Dr. Elizabeth (“Betsy”) Mellins, a pioneering physician-scientist in pediatric immunology.
This funding supports ongoing research in Pediatric Acute-onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome (PANS), with a focus on advancing the identification and analysis of metabolic biomarkers that may help distinguish affected individuals from controls. The grant will also support the statistical analysis and related research efforts necessary to further this work.
By investing in biomarker research, PANDAS Physicians Network continues its commitment to advancing the scientific understanding of PANS and accelerating progress toward more precise diagnosis and targeted treatment strategies.
